Original Abstract Mixed Media Painting on gallery wrap stretched canvas. Pastels, Prisma Colors, Water Color, and Acrylic. Painting techniques wrap around 2.5" sides and all varnished for protection.
The composition of this piece started with expressive marks and swooshes of blended tints and shades of blues in the top portions, then I added blue's complement of the orange family (orange/red orange/yellow orange) with patterned/textured areas creating a path of movement to keep the eye moving around the canvas and leading back again to the patterned areas. This process happened mostly intuitively as I layered and blended the variety of media used. This reminds me of my recent transplant to the Carolinas from Arizona (born and raised), because it just came suddenly out of the blue and was a very moving (haha) experience full of many surprises.
